Together with our customer we developed a global planning vision supporting the overall supply chain strategy for the next 5 to 10 years. Combining the company’s overall business objectives, it’s increasing drive towards global process harmonization and ambition to leverage industry best practices with different planning capabilities resulted in a new technology framework for all future planning processes. Directing the company towards more mature planning supported by best-fit technologies will prove to be key towards a successful implementation of their overall business strategy.

A leading tire manufacturing company, employing more than 100,000 people worldwide, covering their business in tires and in the diversified products segment.


As every business environment, also the tire industry is evolving at very fast pace; digitalization, changing customer behaviors, environmental & mobility challenges, globalization and commoditization are just a few examples. Big differences in process maturity and an extremely scattered technology landscape over the different regions only put more pressure on their existing operating model. To enable sustainable growth there was a need for alignment, harmonization and simplification within the planning processes and the enabling technology solutions.


As always, gathering a complete view on the current planning process maturity and the future planning requirements for the different regions was a first step. Challenging the capabilities of the different technology vendors both on functionality and engagement model resulted in clear and extensive recommendations on the aspirational landscape and corresponding company roadmap. Facilitating workshops with the different regions, reporting out to the different stakeholders and ensuring adequate business validation with key decision takers were instrumental for the success of the project.
